    The other wires were only yellow green, as this was what I meant that the brown and blue were just terminal strip no code connections here and when all connected blew fuse!! c'mon.. Pleaheeees>!

    Elomte, I'm not a sparker but just a plumbing student. If the existing lights are a domestic 240v ring I know the wire required here is a twin and earth 1.5mm off the ring, and if wiring to the transformer that you might be ok as you have sufficient trans size to the downlights you have selected...

    Is it when checking for continuity.. Closed: You get a reading of zero or(999on digital multimeter) Open : You get nothing (No reading or 'anything')
