A newbie says hello - electric gates

Found you when googling RCD tripping gates so joined for help. And what best to help with an electrical fault...

I should have added I'm not in trade but it did ask that on registering.

My wife can wire a plug but would I trust Her to do any fault finding? not a chance, hence your best bet would be to have a look for anything obvious, that looks out of place, failing that, to coin a recent thread " get an Electrician involved" may save you some cash in the grand scheme of things.

Electric gates can be very complex on the regs side... if i recall correctly there is a whole scheme / cscs card for them.

meet a chap the other day a gate installer ,he said that playing with electric gates .you now need to conform BS-EN13241-1 safety ...
