Normally for £120 quid I'd put it down to a lesson learned, but, this was a PIR on a campsite hook-up I did on short notice, about a week before Easter last as they had been let down by another electrician (???) anyway I did it because the warden is a guy I know from another customer, but despite reminders and emails nothing, now the guy I know takes nowt to do with invoices etc this he passes onto the landowner anyway anyone used a collections company that are into small ammounts recovery

I have used Thomas Higgins. Very good you can find them on Google, but landing on the clients doorstep in person with three Geordie ex-shipyard lads is much more effective.

Statutory Interest maybe should be added too.

The only word of caution about using money claim is that you may win the case, and even then the customer may not pay and if he's not bothered about having CCJ's against him you may well end up out of pocket.

Before using money claim on line it important that you can demonstrate that you've chased for payment politely, (using letters and attaching copies of invoices) and then you need to issue a final demand which needs to contain the following statement:

"I attach my original invoice to this letter and wish to inform you, that if the invoice is not settled in full by 12 June 2012, I intend to refer this matter to the Small Claims Court without further reference to you.

Please be aware that all costs associated with such action are added to your outstanding bill and will make the final payment higher."
