Frequency of testing cited in Guidance Note 3 are recommendations and not a Regulation although other documents may well make them requirements. BS7671 gives no frequency for testing periods at all.

I think i may be being a bit too harsh hear. I’ve started to get a bit concerned with the standard of EICRs out in the big world at the=moment. Also with a lot of threads on this site.

so I’m jumping on these threads, possibly before thinking. But possibly I’m right, maybe I’m not. I don’t know.

have a look at a few threads and you will know what I mean.

the standards are shocking and the coding......

I have only scanned the thread, but in answer to your question I would be a similar price to @Paignton pete £250. If you intend to do it properly a 6 bed is going to take around 4-6 hours, plus at least an hour writing up the report and quote for remedials. However, If you are just starting out then perhaps just charge £200 as it sounds like you want to make sure you get the job. £150 is too low.

£250+vat for me at the very least down here in the SE.

Depends on what type of 6 bed and rough condition though. If it was a big 6 bed with plenty of reception rooms and wiring old it could take 3 or 4 days. I did one last year and the eicr cost them £1200+vat. 6 bedrooms.

I understand your concern but maybe it would be more productive to guide people that are genuinely looking for help rather than looking for ways to prove their incompetency.

Before I post I have a scan of other threads and if I cant find my answer I post - As that is what I thought this forum is here for.

I'm not a bogjit and scarper - I take my trade seriously and want to do a propper job, however I I'm admittedly a little rusty after working maintenance for the past 8 years ish, therfore again, I come here for guidance as well as asking friends in the industry, to ensure I do the best job possible
