This thread is now closed, the poll has been created here: http://www.electriciansforums.co.uk...ctrical-suppliers-electrical-wholesalers.html - feel free to add more electrical suppliers and electrical wholesalers to the new thread, we'll keep this old one closed.

Would like to get a poll running on this but need all the options first.

So could you all list the main three companies you use, online and / or offline. Doesn't really matter.

If you want to, give a short reason why.

I'll then collate the results in a week or so and create a poll so we can get voting for the most used electrical suppliers by our forum members.

Cheers

Dan

I buy cash/credit card, dont like (trust!) trade accounts so .....

80% -- Electricfix ( overall easy of trading, early/late opening times, location/accessibility, customer service (incl coffee & donuts!!), internet order evening before & pick-up in-store next day)
15% -- Independent local supplier -- normally Edmundsons ( when I can't get specific items that I want at Screwfix)
5% -- various on-line (when I want something specific)

Dont use --- CEF ( for none of the above plus too expensive IMHO!)

TLC most time as it on way to most jobs
QVS as it's 2 min from TLC
Some times YESSS
Screwfix if it's late
The only thing I find with TLC is you might have to watt for them to serve the riffraff

It all depends on the branch and the counter staff, but the only wholesaler I would trust would be edmundsons.

I've used them all, and can't stand standing behind the general public in TLC whilst they pick out bits for a DIY job.

ElectricFix - 75% (watch for being given returns that are broken or missing parts)
TLC - 20% (slow service sometimes)
QVS - 5%
Virtually always I order online, and either collect or have delivered.
I never use suppliers where you have to be deemed worthy to be given a reasonable price.

Yes but they only stock low quality products. They've never heard of MEM 3 phase boards, and they should be the first choice for any commercial electrician.

Right then, will remember that next time instead of the Schneider range, Hager and so on that they aren't suitable for the job lol

CEF ...on the next street to where i live mainly (prices only a joke if you don't get good discount... i have a very good business relation with them, i can get Schneider gear cheaper than anywhere else!)

RS components for panel building although im migrating to Scattergoods and Johnsons as RS are playing silly buggers with my discounts

Scatt's ....see above'
