Faulty Air source heat pump

My NIBE F2015 air source heat pump which is only 7 years old has an apparent fan motor failure. The fan turns freely and the motor starter capacitor has been replaced but the unit will still not run. Any suggestions for a fix?

Why was the capacitor replaced, was the motor and its control tested to verify it was at fault.

Check fuses.

What controls the motor? Contractor/Relay? If it were me I’d be pushing the contactor In and seeing if it ran. If it does then you’ve got s control issue. If not then bell the windings our.

On an ASHP I'd guess the motor would be speed controlled according to head pressure (condensing temp/ambient temp). Not sure if it would be inverter speed control or multiple wound motor though.

If it’s inverter controlled then I’d hook it up to a dummy supply. Or if you can, frig the run input on the inverter.

Thanks for all the help. The unit was tested and showed power was being supplied to the fan motor windings through the controm relays. The connector at the fan motor was tested live showing full mains voltage on both windings. A Nibe installer replaced the starter capacitor which made no difference and Nibe have now agreed to replace the motor.
