Ruston - how much saw dust is required before it counts as a hazard?

My brother wants to set up a wood working work shop too. I doubt he will worry about it. He never has and he chain smokes in the garage with no extractor but plenty of power tools.

I suspect how fine the dust is might be important.

It is the fine airborne dust that is the main hazard if there was a source of ignition this could cause a chain explosion.
I know what you mean about woodworking sheds , I have seen many that are full of dust, but it is still a risk.
At the Quarry I worked at we were shown two explosions . One without dust blew a hole in a small purpose built wall , the other with the same amount of explosives with a bag of sugar added blew the wall to bits.

Ps . It might of been flour , my memory is not what it was.
