Hi

Just registered here. Im not an Electrician but I am awaiting for a course date to start my part P. However I can re-wire houses and know about Electrics, I just do not have the qualifications for it. I do own a HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering though !!

I run my own small Electronic Security company and 90% of my work is sub-contracting. I am based in Cornwall.

I thought it would be a great idea to register to this forum as I know that there are a lot of Electricians who may get asked to do CCTV or Alarms on one of their jobs BUT dont touch security systems ???

Hopefully this site will be great for networking for job and project opportunities.

welcome to the asylum. would love to chat but i'm having a friend for dinner, yum. yum.

Hi Brian
Did you do all the courses at college at night ??? OR did you sign up with a proper training firm. I was going to do the courses with the proper training firms but then i found out the cost !!!! They wanted over £8,000 so ive decided to go the cheaper way and go to college for eight weeks for a fraction of the cost !!! Part P first then will see how i go with it ... I did fancy getting into the PV solar.

You got that the wrong way at first, but saw the error of your ways! :)
(Proper Further Ed College at night, not sign up with a dodgy training firm)
I did all my C&Gs at FE college, the only way.

Welcome to EF as well. :welcome2:

YEP well spotted ..... The proper way at college ..... the cowboy way at a training company cramming everything in within 4 weeks.....and when i say everything I mean the Part P ...PLUS 17th edition + testing and inspecting + PV. I did think that it was way to much money over £8000 and that was not inc VAT.
COLLEGE the only way !!! agree
