Hi all, am new here. Would like some advice before contacting an electrician (again)

We have an e7 meter, we have had a new immerser fitted and a new electricity meter. The off peak was showing constantly and the only way to put boost on was to change the time to about 5am then change it back after boosting.

Our electrician said that it was a meter problem but SSE changed it for a new meter and there was still a problem.

The electrician still insisted it was a meter problem, washed his hands of it and now doesn't even return calls.

Now, the meter will go on boost but on boost or off boost you can still hear the immerser upstairs heating the water, basically all the time so we have to turn it off at the switch which is of course a problem when you want it timed to come on in the early hours off peak.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Mark.

Was the immersion heater a like for like replacement or a new setup ?

Sounds like the electrician you used was not familiar with economy 7

Some pictures may help to answer your problem as it is difficult to give advice blind

If you have an E7 meter the immersion should be connected to that via, probably a seperate CU. If its in the main CU you almost certainly have a problem.

If you post 6 times you'll be able to upload a picture.
