We advised this person not to do solar or to use Enphase inverters which would at least have given him some returns.
We used 60% as a shading factor. So 0.4 on SAP !
Obviously this made us far too expensive and our return on investment using SAP figures were not great .......
So he had a standard string system fitted by the local insulation company "Gendex" of Holton Heath.
Its going to take him a year to work out he`s been fleeced ...
Not really good news for solar industry though as this sort of install gives us all a bad name.
We will post a photograph of this install on Thursday as next in Swanage then.
as promised ......
The home owner , Mr B. said its all going to work well as Gendex had fitted solar edge gizmos !
The tree is protected.
I thought we owed a duty of care to the customer. How anyone in their right mind could recommend installation to this householder is beyond me. Zoom out of Street View and see this tree in the middle of summer. Solar Edge will not give sufficient gain to make this viable, in fact the reverse may be true due to increased capital cost. Never mind the tree being protected, who is protecting the customer?
The company that installed this and took the money are a total disgrace.
I would love to see the paperwork for that install. I wonder what the predicted yield is?
