My Brother wants to rent out his house and needs a landlords certificate. Do I need to be registered to part P to do a periodic inspection for him. I am an electrician with 25 years experience 17th edition qualified but work for a company only doing industrial work although I used to do domestic, I am competent but is that enough?

yes if you can prove competence you can sign off periodic s. the trouble is if it is going through an estate agent most of them are ignorant enough like a lot of local authorities to only accept one from an NICEIC member. if thats the case get on the phone and show them the error of their ways and explain to them thats its a pir and not a llc. but in the original answer if your competent yes you can sign it off.
