thought we would try a lead company, man what a hassle they must either be making them up or cold calling asking people if they would like some info on solar. then they send them over to us guys when we make the approach you find you get:-

i thought it was free, how much is it, oh cant afford that,why have we got to pay them down the road had it free. STRUTH!!!

oh man been there done that - the best bit is some firms are on "auto accept" what a load of rubbish - i have to admit out of all the rubbish we tried "eco experts" seem to be the best for us.
 
I had another look at this option the other day with a company that sends the leads to 4 companies in total. This is the logic that brought me to decide it defo wasn't worth it.

Quote sent to 4 companies, so 1/4 chance on average for each company if it works out at the average rate. Probably only about 50% will actually go ahead with anyone though even if the prequalification process is very thorough, which would make that a 1 in 8 chance for each company.

8 leads costs = £320 + vat
8 surveys + system designs and quotes costs approx £75-100 per lead = £600-800

so somewhere in the region of £900-1100 costs per actual sale on average.

On that basis I don't see that it's worth it, unless we're able to get more than the average number of sales per lead, which definitely wasn't the case last time as the leads were sold to companies employing hard selling tactics who'd be there and signing the customers with a load of sales patter within 2 hours of the lead being generated, which simply isn't a sales method we can work with.
