I’ve been looking on eBay for a new tool box. My Stanley one has cracked. I’ve seen this. But I’m not sure about the depth of the draws for hand tools:

I'm not sure there's any advice to offer about toolboxes which hasn't previously been posted in response to your questions.

There are bomb proof toolboxes available, but you seem reluctant to buy one. I guess the best advice is to buy whatever takes your fancy and either decide to sell it on or use it until it breaks and try again. In the process you'll gain firsthand knowledge about a wide range of options.

I have the two drawer version of the Talco tool chest and its full of mechanical tools i.e spanners etc, its too heavy to lift or be any use outside the garage, except for the internal tote tray.

What would you recommend that’s bombproof?

Recommendations have been made countless times among these threads. Quite a lot of posts to sort through, but it'll take much less time than people spent posting in response to oft repeated questions on the subject.

Anyone know any decent MFTs going?

I used to consider myself an indecisive person. After reading a great many of these threads, I am not so sure now...

Thanks Mike. Only one to really answer my question.

You must have tried every tool box on the market by now. This won’t stop until you have a 10 grand snap on roller box.

Your welcome, I have a variety of totes and toolbox's the problem always is I put too much stuff in them and they get cumbersome and heavy, this type are good for using on the job:DeWalt TSTAK Technicians Bag 17 1/4" - Screwfix - https://www.screwfix.com/p/dewalt-tstak-technicians-bag-17-1-4-/371PV?tc=HT4&gclid=CjwKCAjw15eqBhBZEiwAbDomEh7Mxg3DUrjpjJElkat4u58obXHAIU3oNSFL1u6H9v9gUKHGuW0bXhoCkqUQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds, I keep most of my tools in DeWalt stack box's and decant into the technicians bag as required.

...nothing worse than an over crowded tool box that weighs a tonne

i try my best to only carry what I need for the job in hand with a couple screwdrivers and cutters in my new tool vest

The DeWalt TStak drawers are quite shallow so prevent overloading, the problem is the large case type have access only from the top, so if staked as the name suggest, everything above has to be removed to allow the case to open, still find the Fluke MFT case the best seat for lunch. 🥳

The other guy on ebay is selling this one. Worth considering maybe, as you are probably near enough to pick it up:

I don’t get paid enough.

The Dewalt Toughsysystem 2.0 looks okay but it’s expensive. Same as the Packout. As we do a lot of domestic work it’s nice to have some organisation when working. Try wheeling one of those into some ones house 😂

The Klein Rolling Tool bag was great but everything just went into the middle so again you’d have to empty it to find something that made its way to the bottom.

Veto and Velocity maybe the answer but they are a awful lot for a bag.

A friend said I could try this:

Keter Master Pro Masterloader 17191709 Tool Trolley Plastic Black / Red https://amzn.eu/d/9AOWqjM

Never gave it much thought before, but the Fluke MFT case with the removable tote tray is big enough and has the capacity for everything needed for EICR or any other testing, take the tester out and you have a tool box and tray for most small domestic work, surprising how much you can get in them.

Erbauer power tool set as well. Someone had a thread here recently asking about which brand of tools to change to and
Erbauer got several recommendations (although not from me). This could get whoever that was a good start.

I'm still waiting for the floating toolbox that delivers what you need

Don't think it's possible

Like a Roomba that levitates ?
That would be handy right enough.
If it could bring me what I need then it's one step up from me anyway. :D

This thread has turned very strange, what have Rumbaba's go to do with tool box's. 🤣

All joking aside I’ve had 3x dewalt tstak boxes for several years now and they’ve been great and they didn’t break the bank either. One even has drawers
