Hi,

what's everyone's thoughts on these switches/sockets etc. I don't think much of them.

What's the best ones to buy and to fit?

is that the flat plate your on about , if so i put them on once and didnt like the way the seated onto mouting plate. so i dont wanna see them again untill im impressed

Yes that is the same as what I have done. Since then been asked a few times to fit them, but I put them off and got the screwed type

Screwless are awful. Usually a clip on front that can easily pop off if the wall is not a perfectly flat newly plastered one.

I got some of the screwfix ones as they do coloured ones & I wanted to get some for my office, they are ok but yes if you didn't have a good flat wall they would be a pain and are not as good to fit as something with round terminals and square edges.

bag o' sh1te. just had a customer bought some. 25mm back boxes nailed in with clout nails. no way to fit 35mm boxes without serious demolition of walls. made him take them back.

Not screwless OK, but the Schneider GET ultimate flat plate range are as near as damn it. They usually have colour matched screws, are pretty close to being flat and can go in 25mm back boxes if the box is set back by around 5mm. Nice quality IMO, though Schneider do get some bad press.

TLC did some screwless with plastic clip on covers. Have some in kids bedroom and they have not succumbed to any damage yet. With the covers being plastic they will accept a little more deviation in the wall surface than metal covers would.
