We are currently renovating our flat. We have an electrician involved but I thought it would be useful to get some advice here before making any proposals to him. We're based in the UK and I'm relying heavily on my A-Level physics to understand the electronics involved.
I am looking for a solution to control two sets of lights from one switch, where one set is dimmable and one set is not dimmable. The dimmer will be a trailing edge rotary dimmer with zigbee smart function. Details here
The intended function would be that when the dimmer is on, in any dim level, the non-dimmable bulbs are on. Only when the switch is pressed and turned off would I expect both sets of lights to turn off.
I wondered if maybe some kind of relay switch would be the answer here, connected in parallel to the dimmable lights and acting as a switch for the non-dimmable lights. If this is the case, any advice on choosing the right product would be helpful given the voltages and current involved.
