Cheers - this is yorkshire style stone roof about 20mm thick

you can get the hangers to be adjustable ive fitted the non adjustable ones before . you can adjust to thickness of tile and also adjust to level panels off. im not sure what you call them cos i dont order i just fit.

I know - dont fancy hanger bolts, i prefer to use hooks and flashing, i cant see this being a hard job. Always the same when your not 100% sure about something, but after the first few hooks the rest will fly on.

i youl be grand you know yourself once you get started its easy enough , some boys wouldnt touch it if they werent sure about it but to me if theres obstacles in front of you and you want the work youve just gotta find a way round them. if your beat before you start you may aswel stay in bed. cheers

No better way to learn than the deep end - i love it.

This jobs going alright, the roof turned out to be fake stone, there massive concrete slates, held on with a single nail in the middle at the top. Once we got the first two rafters done we was onto it. The method we are doing is 2 rows of 8 in landscape, on the rafter we bolt to we are stripping the slates from the top to expose all the rafter then re-building from the bottom up with the hooks, flashing and slate. Only done 20 hooks and already used 12m code 3 @300mm wide. just going to buy another 2 rolls, this has cost approx £240 in total plus vat on its own, so in the future when the prices are leaner its something im not going to forget.
