Usb to usb for aurora comunicator

I have struggled for months to get my inverter connected to my laptop using rs485 to usb converters. I have had one of the converters working for 10 days originally then it stopped and could not find the inverter. Having bought others and new cat cable. I tried usb to usb and it worked but using a 1m cable.

What I want to know is, will a 10m cable with built in repeater work. I realise that 5m is max for usb to usb, but would the repeater stretch that to 10m

If I want to go over 5m with USB I use a hub as a "repeater", I believe you can use this sytem up to 5 hubs giving 30m max
