Had niceic guy out today and has advised that behind kitchen units i dont need to fit fire rated clips in trunking. I was under the impression that they were to be fitted in all trunking? Any thoughts?

I’m working on a new build student accommodation block wiring for fire alarm.
I have been instructed to use perforated banding as containment across the stud walls above the ceilings as they won’t allow us to put any containment up. Now this to me feels a bit dog rough.

Just been thinking, my Lad does some maintenance for a Charity outfit, mainly Fire Alarm testing.
Now the Charity occupy a unit, 2 stories, adjoined to about 6 other similar units, but basically all one building, the unit in question has it's own F/A install, not linked to any of the other...
This popper up on my twitter feed tonight, shows a house gutted in Greater London from fire due to a consumer unit fire.... Make sure you double check your terminations and installs and it can almost always be avoided if you do things properly.

Not having anything to compare it to it is hard to benchmark. However the tutor was good knows his stuff and fielded questions very well. The course was well organised. The food was ermmm well could have been more varied.
