Discuss A helping hand, Manchester/South MCR in the Electricians Jobs area at ElectriciansForums.net

This person requires some work. They've hopefully explained their skills and qualifications and what area they're in. Otherwise, what's the bloody point?

Hey guys,

I'm nearing the end of my City & Guilds level 2 course at evening college, and would love to get some knowledge and experience from veteran Electricians under my belt!

If anyone needs a spare pair of hands on any weekend in the Manchester/ South Manchester area, i'd love the opportunity to jump on board as an apprentice/mate.

I genuinely wouldn't want any money for coming along, as experience/ learning from you guys would be worth it's weight in gold down the line!

For my current lack of knowledge i make up in hard work.

Cheers,
Andy!

I'll keep you in mind. Is Northwich or Knutsford too far for you to travel? I would not expect you to work for nothing, at least min wage level. Just waiting on acceptance of a couple of quotes for kitchen jobs. pm me a contact number and if these jobs come in,I'll ring you.

Great stuff, practical help, thanks telectrix.....

Hey guys,
Hope you don't mind, thought i'd give this a little bump. A few new things under the belt since last time of posting.

- Finished 2365 level 2, and awaiting a start date for level 3 (end of Aug, beginning of Sept.)
- Have a valid ECS labourers card
- Completed an Asbestos Awareness Course

So if anyone in the North West/Manchester/South Manchester area needs a spare pair of hands at weekends and potentially sometimes in the evenings (depending on work) then please get in touch. As mentioned previously, i would be working for free in exchange for experience.. even willing to get the bacon butty in!

Thanks,
AC

Afternoon guys!

Weekly post to see if anyone needs any help this weekend around Manchester/Cheshire? - Absolutely free, just after the experience/knowledge. Have own transport. make a top brew.

Cheers,
AC

i'll keep yous in mind if anything comes up. if it does, you would be paid something, even if it's in beer.
Thank you Telectrix, really grateful for you taking the time to respond and appreciate you keeping me in mind! I genuinely hand on heart couldn't accept payment but awesome of you to offer. Always gsme for a beer post works should anything come up though!
Many thanks,
Andy

It’s your year this year mate !
Definitely is mate! - giving it 110%. Currently half way through level 3 and have my 18th booked in for next month. All systems go! Just missing the experience which is the most difficult part. Absolutely loved everything to do with the theory though and where I've managed to get out with a spark I've loved that too.
Many thanks for the response!

bear in mind that a lot of my work is small jobs.... faults and maybe extra sockets, some testing, with the occasional partial rewire/replacement CU; alarms are my fav. work. i don't work full time any more... too much weasr and tear on the knees, and the pubs open at 12. :p

Haha brilliant! Experience is experience no matter how small, have to start somewhere and I'm more than happy getting under the floorboards with the creepy crawlies! Plus, with two people you could easily make the pub for 11 ;)

Good luck with the 18th edition, I completed mine last month. i must say, Sparky Ninja really helped me out. I focused mainly on part 4 and part 5, which as you already know is nearly 50% of the exam.

So I've just got back from a work meeting essentially making me redundant from my current role (not related to electrical).

I was trying to get level 2 and level 3 2365 done in the evenings to get the theory behind me and give me a better chance of working alongside an electrician to get the practical skills needed for a complete career change. Now being made redundant has put a huge risk on being able to afford college to complete the level 3 qualification.

If anyone out there knows of any electricians or electrical firms in need of a really hard grafter, who's just after a chance to prove themselves then let me know.

Many thanks in advance.
