I have posted a few times here already, though very infrequently, so here's a bit about me:
I decided not so long ago, that I was sick of working for Local Authorities pushing a pen and hitting meaningless stats, and that what I really wanted was a skill and the ability to work for myself. I chose sparking as it requires using your brain and had done a bit of sparky work in my youth.
I enrolled on one of those we can turn you into a FULLY QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN IN ONLY FOUR WEEKS!! courses and got my 17th and 2392, but soon realised that this is a long way off being a. employable and b. competent enough to begin working for myself.
I am now half-way through my C&G 2330 level 2 and will be doing the level 3 next year and did my 2391 exam in December last year (I'd paid for it up front when I first enrolled at the training centre). I have done a couple of minor jobs (spur off a ring, replacing accessories and the like) and am much more confident in my knowledge and abilities due to the 2330 and the studying for the 2391 (which I get the result for soon). Hoping to keep improving on my experience and knowledge and take on bigger and better (paid!) jobs and to join a part P scheme soon. Ideally I would like to gain experience and qualifications (the NVQ springs to mind) with a well respected firm, but as yet have not worked out a way in to one of these. I'll keep plugging away...:43:
