I'm converting my garage and have about 15m of skirting being installed which has a groove in it I wish to install a (dotless) RGB led light strip all around but it needs to be smart and controlled via Alexa.

Can you tell me if anyone does something which will work for this spec of skirting please:

The groove is 10mm high x 5mm deep (ideally not so deep as I don't want it proud. (already delivered) :

You can get 10mm wide LED tape, which would fit in this skirting groove. However, and especially given the location, I'd prefer to protect such a tape e.g. in an aluminium profile, and the profile will then be too big for the existing groove - a typical size to hold 10mm tape is 18mm. You might be able to enlarge the groove with a router, but probably much less trouble to just buy a different skirting!

You can get Wi-Fi LED tape contollers that work with Alexa. You need to match the controller/driver voltage and power with whatever tape you select.

Certainly! There are various options available in the market that can meet your requirements for installing a smart, dotless RGB LED light strip controlled via Alexa on your skirting.

When looking for a suitable product, consider the following criteria:

1. Length and Flexibility: Ensure that the LED light strip is available in lengths that can accommodate your 15-meter skirting. Look for products that offer flexibility, allowing you to bend and fit the strip into the groove of the skirting.

2. Dotless Design: Seek out LED light strips that provide a dotless illumination effect, meaning the individual LEDs are not visible when the lights are turned on. This will help create a smooth and continuous lighting appearance along the skirting.

3. Smart Integration: Verify that the LED light strip is compatible with Alexa for voice control. Look for products that explicitly state support for Alexa integration or compatibility with popular smart home ecosystems.

4. Power and Control: Assess the power requirements and control options of the LED light strip. Ensure that it can be easily powered and controlled through a suitable power supply and control hub or device compatible with Alexa.

5. Quality and Reliability: Consider the overall quality and reliability of the LED light strip. Look for products with positive customer reviews that indicate longevity, durability, and good performance.

To find a suitable LED light strip meeting these criteria, you can explore online marketplaces and search for terms like "smart LED light strip," "RGB LED light strip with Alexa integration," or "dotless LED light strip." Read product descriptions, customer reviews, and specifications to gauge if they fulfill your requirements.

Additionally, consider reaching out to local lighting stores or consulting with professional electricians who specialize in lighting installations. They may be able to provide recommendations or suggest specific brands or models that are suitable for your skirting project.

Remember to carefully follow the manufacturer's instructions for installation, ensuring that the LED light strip is safely and securely placed within the groove of the skirting to achieve the desired lighting effect.

Thanks for that rundown, however, I was after something a bit more specific to any products out there that anyone has experienced specifically

Schluter make a variety of different lighting trims: Trim - https://lilleytileandstone.co.uk/tile-trim.html?cat=460 I have used the tile trim on quite a few different applications, including above a skirting, the lighting tape is available in different configurations, to project downwards only or downwards and forwards, for downwards read upwards according to which way up you have fitted the trim.

They'd have been better investing the money in cleaning products, rather than highlighting that grime.
