Hi Guys,

Quick question about PAT testing Certificate, I did my Certificate of Competence in 2009 and was told that it would last for 3 years and that i would then need to redo the course. But some people are saying that i dont need to do it now. Does anyone know what the length of time is for the Certificate of Competence?

Thanks,

It last for however long it states on the Cetticate, or for however long people are willing to accept it.
Do you even need it, is it something that clients ask you for?

By "Certificate of Competence" do you mean certificate gained from City & Guilds 2377 ? If that's the case then you've already proved that you've gained the necessary Competence, and further experience on the job will enhance this.
The whole point of the City & Guilds course is to teach, so you learn. Once learnt its hard to forget.
If you're able to advertise that you're C & G qualified then your clients should be accepting of this.
