For you guys that do EICRs. When carrying out a periodic condition reports on an older installation that are used by the general public. Re special areas containing showers, bathrooms, basins, in other words wet areas, if no RCD protection would you code it C3 as a recommendation to install RCD or not at all as done to regs at time of install? As open to the public this would classed as commercial not domestic. I would say code 3 myself, but would like your opinions please.
:thinking2:

For showers and bathrooms not basins it would depend on whether supplementary bonding were correctly in place. (and main bonding).
If the bonding was sufficient for the area then I would agree with a C3.
For public areas I would expect the risk of accidents would be fairly high so I would want to see RCD protection in place, but would only recommend.
If there were no bonding in place then C2 as it would be (apparently) very dangerous, though would presumably have worked safely for years.
But it would be safe, if there were no faults!
