No difference. Although at least it sounds relevant compared to the latest initiative from NICEIC meant to capture consumers' attention called 'registered competent person electrical'. Hardly a catchy slogan for the public or businesses to remember when searching for an electrician/contractor. The marketeers must have been having an off day when they came up with that.

What with, Electrical Safety Register, Electricsafe now this Registered Competent Person Electrical is has just got beyond the joke. Even the Electricians don't know what is what so what the hell chance the public have I don't know. They have made something that was unclear already even muddier!!

Ultimately nobody cares. I get asked the questions and i just ask for an email, send a PDF letterhead across that has my Co number, NICEIC number, PL info, bank details and pay rates, nobody has questioned them yet.

Which leads me to believe i could just enter any old tosh in there and the only difference would be an extra couple of K in my bank account per annum!

I often get asked if I'm Part P, and have a number of times been asked if I am trustmark, and my answer to the trustmark question is yes I did pay my extra £50 for trustmark but not exactly sure what the point in it is.

Send me by BACS £30 and I will tell you exactly what the point of it is.

Well, it's only £50, another sticker on the van.

Most customers see the government endorsed standard and automatically assume your a cut above the rest as it has the government word in the slogan lol when in reality it doesn't mean anything apart from you have paid a bullseye for the privilege of the use of the sticker haha
