Hi everyone

Is anyone looking at joining this. I have my approved NICEIC assessment next week and wanted to discuss this with him. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

dont know much about it as yet..
truth be told whenever i hear the `green` thing being wheeled out....i immediately get suspicious...
funny that really isn`t it......

To be honest I thought the green thing had gone out the window when they lowered the FITS. But now it is about trying to make domestic and commercial properties self sufficient. I'm gonna go for it!

the Green Deal is due to launch in Easter for the domestic market. It launched in October for the commercial.

IMO its a complete waste of time and cant work

it cannot work with solar,
they have a thing called the "Golden Rule" whereas all savings from investment can repay any loan.
the savings in energy bills is a lot lower than the cost of installation, making the Golden Rule unrealistic.

every other Green Deal opportunity can be achieved, but not with solar.

there are a lot of other flaws without going into too much detail, but time will tell and the solar industry will stagnate until a better system of incentive is thought up

I was looking at this but what happens when you want to move within the first few years? Will the loan be secured on your property or will it work the same as my solar works (rent a roof)

I just hope that DECC-Warmfront-Green Deal will not use companies like Total Trade Services guess they changed their name again anyway. Come to think of it Warmfront themselves were crap too.

It took me 2 years to sort out the mess from a simple 2-3 days to fit new oil tank and Bosch boiler. Tiger loop leaked in and out join/seal. They didn’t fit spirovent . Oil tank was too close to wooden fence. Boiler had an oil leak twice. £1500 damage to boilermate they dry fired it. It took them 4 hours to fit thermostat. Flue was incorrectly fitted

They never contacted council building control. They left me counterfeit oftec paperwork/certificates. They didn’t have the correct qualifications to do the work they used oftec reg of someone in the office. We had no heating or hot water for over 2 weeks. It took them 3 attempts to lay the oil line from tank to boiler correctly. In the end Warmfront had to get in a different company to re do job again correctly

the loan stays with the property, but its rate is 6-7% APR,
so if you just walked into any bank on the high street and secured a loan on your property you would get a much batter rate with no "Golden Rule" bull****

its doomed to fail

Thanks for the info so if it works this way you buy a house but you then have to pay a loan for the last owners Green deal upgrade has you said its doomed from day 1 just like warmfront version 1 did.
