Has anyone heard of ServiceMagic. Im getting hounded by them daily. I think its a scam.
Apparently you pay a one-off fee of £30 and they send you leads for jobs, I get regular e-mails saying this person wants a re-wire, that person wants a fuseboard change etc.

I mean who would give away these leads for a one-off £30.
I get 5-6 of these e-mails a day.

Im sure its a scam. Rik

£30 down the drain.
Get to some networking meetings, attend regular and the work will come.

waste of time you pay 30 quid upfront then you pay for each job that you are interested in from 8 quid to 40 quid per job, that then only gets you the customers contact details its then up to you to sell yourself to the customer to get the job which most of them only want to find out the cheapest quote also service magic give the details of each job to min of 5 other traders in your area which be fine if you not got many polish who work for peanuts lol in your area

Isnt it funny how I have spoken to them a couple of times and there was no mention of paying per job etc. Im not into selling myself short to win jobs, especially when you have to pay to get a look in, thanks for the info tonto.

Big an Daft, what exactly do you mean by network meetings? Thanks for the replies.

Sorry the reply is a bit late, been busy on the agency/JIB thread........
Networking and the like is business breakfasts or lunch meetings.
Look on t'internet for them. Things like Business on Toast, 4Networking but defo not BNI, just like going back to school. Go to one with no fees just pay as you go.
