Have just found out about a well established regional player in my area who was offering a ten year workmanship warranty in april who are now in administration.

Is a long warranty now something to be concerned about rather than an advantage for a customer?

Debate...

If you are going bust long or short term what does it matter...REAL or IWA...

Its going to be a long August bank holiday and some may not come back from their holidays.

Think of these warranty schemes as the Ponzi the rest of banking system is, they take premiums, book profit then when an event like what has just happened recently comes along they do not have the funds to honour the shear number of promises the have made to people. Scheme fails or premiums rocket for those that are still trying to battle their way through this sh!t storm.

There's not really a lot that can go wrong with a PV system to be fair

A few replacement inverters maybe but nothing major

Look at half the threads on here my donkey fit my system my dc cables are rubbing of my tiles my click fit just blew into my next doors green house and this is the tip of the iceberg.

I would say 50% of customers dont know what is what. Not a lot can go wrong if it is installed by someone who cares and plans to be around to honour the warranty.

Not to mention half the haunky taunk gear being installed. Only time will tell.
