Hi Guys,
Have recently carried out an EICR on a property that has no main bonding to either water or gas amongst (many) other things. Bonding the water shouldn't present any problems but the gas supply is situated in the garage at the front of the property. The garage is not attached to the house, there is a walkway separating them. The pipework leaves the meter & runs through the garage (about 5m) over the entrance to the walkway along the side of the house around the back & into the house where the boiler is situated.
The overall run is approx 15/16m. The MET is siutated at about 12/13m along the run (inside the house).
Obviously I could bond within 600mm of meter no problem & run cable in conduit adjacent to existing pipework but it would far more convenient if I could bond at point of entry to house. The house in question (in fact it's a 17th century thatched cottage) has very uneven walls throughout the run and would up the difficulty factor of trying to make it a neat job. Unfortunately it's not possible to run the cable through the house it would have to be external.
Would it be acceptable to bond at point of entry or do you think I should take it back to meter?
Any help would be most appreciated
