next we'll get the opel ohm from our german friends.

From what I've herd the volt seems a pretty good car. I've always wondered why it's taken so long for a car to be given the same diesel(or petrol)-electric drive system that's been used in trains since the 1950s.

Personally cant wait to own a electric car, 20 years time I'll be able to buy myself a old Tesla roadster, replace the batteries*, practically new car that will outlive me.

Electric's the way forward and we'll get there quicker if people didn't take clarkson logic seriously. Can't understand the push for Hydrogen when it takes more electricity to process it than just charging a electric car (and that's not taking into account transport, development of suitable storage and new infrastructure for the developed world)

*I'd say as soon as the Lithium-air battery is fully developed and commercially ready it will mark the end of the average combustion engine

Until someone comes up with an arc-reactor like Iron-Man's, I wont be going electric.:freak:

I would bit your hasnd off for one but it is early days as they want to rent you the batteries plus they keep banging on about a run from Edinburgh to London on one charge but the vast majority run around town or have a 70 mile round trip
