evening all!

I've been asked to include, in a quote, provision to switch on the security lighting when the electric gate opens.

good idea, but what would be involved? I'm guessing extra core in gate supply cable, relay etc, but can anyone be specific about what's involved please?

Might be a good idea if you gave us more info eg make model etc

i don't know yet, as everything is still at the quoting stage.

do some gets systems have the provision for switching, and some not?

gets = gate!

the gate control pcb will have volt free relays , use this to switch the light or a contactor depending on the rating of the relay

As others have said most systems have a set of volt free contacts,when I use them I like to connect them to a relay and then use that to switch the lights,that way if there is a problem there is less chance of damaging the pcb in the controller.
