This is a construction site supply someone has put in at a mates new build site, I think there is a non compliance with the regs, see if you all agree or am I being picky?

External meter box, IP rating not met when the door is open due to flexes wedging it open????

Good job you lot don't come to me for advice, I misread the regs, was looking at sockets in excess of 16amp and these are clearly sockets rated at 13amps. Numpty!:-)

I'd even flicked through 70x for construction sites and I couldn't find anything haha

They are only rated to 20amps, even though a total load of 26 amps is quite possible.

plastic sockets with bob the builder around? that's a mistake. and the DB should be fitted with 3036 fuses so he can substitute nails.

If they are rated to 20 amps then I was correct!? Look at reg 704.511.1 states that all sockets with a rated current equal to or greater than 16amp on a construction site supply shall be compliant with BS EN 60309-2

BS EN 61439-4.jpg
Should a temp supply have these or as previously stated am I being picky, would be good to see a builder trying to plug a 13amp plug into one of these!?:-)

Sorry forget that as it is irrelevant. BS1363 13 amp sockets is what they are. Although the doubles are rated to handle 20amps when a total of 26 is unlikely but possible.

so what was the outcome? what was the mistake?

Sorry no mistake, was me being a numpty, I thought the twin sockets were rated at 16amps or above and they are rated at 13amps.

so if they were rated at 16amps, would that have been non compliant?
