Hi,

I decided to do a visual inspection of my electric shower just to make sure due to the current draw there were no black marks around the cables and all appeared OK, until I spotted how close the supply wires are to the cold water feed and water out, please see picture.

Is this safe to have the supply so close to the pipework or should this be changed?

What would you all rate this if you were doing an EICR?

Many thanks all,

If you have, or can download the instructions for this model, it will state which holes are suitable for electric and water.

As this is a “fast fit” Triton, I would think it says any hole is acceptable.

Yeah it’s a Triton T80Z fast fit and has several entry points for water and electric, I just thought is it safe for them to be right next to one another, but I suppose in the event of a leak it’s the same risk wherever in that small space they are.

The main design choice here is that the electrical connections are above any water joint… so if there is a water leak, it should pour straight out.

Of course, under pressure, a water leak would spray all over the insides…. But you would notice that and turn off the electric…

That look like every shower I've ever taken the lid off.Not a problem what-so-ever and certainly no mention on an EICR.

They used a big enough supply cable - bonus!
