My mother never knew where I was. Lived near West London so a one day travel card for the tube and you could be anywhere. One trip we went over to Essex on the central line, got home she said where you been, my usual reply, just out.I agree with the viewpoint, that we all look back through rose tinted specs. The only thing that isn't consisted is the things we play around with as kids, and how we grow up from there. As a young child, I was allowed out allowed out till tea time during holidays (with no mobile phone and no landline in the house) and watched The High Chaparral on BBC 2, till their signal failed at 8.pm. Then it was bed.
