Ah, so you saw me.
He didn't actually complain too much about that, what tipped him over the edge was when I told the girl on the pharmacy counter that he wanted one of their free blood pressure checks. Maybe I shouldn't have started the conversation with her using the words "Excuse me nice lady"

I don't think the content of the advert is particularly significant (as long as it says everything you need), but people need to see it month after month to show that you are established and not a 10 minute fly-by-night firm. This is the main reason that it takes so long to become established with the public....

Random Lady : "Beryl, I really must get that landing light sorted out..."
Beryl : "How about that Ace electrical? They've been around for ages, so they must be good."

The thing is though Guitarist, as you know, that doesn't happen. What does is either "Oh I need that light sorting so I'll look in the paper" Or Random lady "I must get that light sorted"
Random lady's mate "Ooo when I had problems like that I got xxxxxxxxxxxx they're really nice"

As for the first scenario, they will probably get a few quotes if they have nobody in mind, or just go for the ad which looks most professional.

If it's the second, then it is from an established client-base already, and that takes time.

I honestly (and speaking purely from my own experience) don't believe that gimmicky adverts make much difference in the end, although they may make people smile at the time :)

Coverage is the key, and that takes either a lot of money to do it quickly, or a long time to do it cheaply....
If you find the magic formula, please let me know.

How about "1st Call Electricial......" that will get youto the top of any listings.

One thing I found out is that Y3LL's seo webpages are a load of cow dung.

Local newspapers, maybe from just outside your 'normal' area of coverage can sometimes work well.
