Hi everyone,

Sorry, this is my 1st post, but I was wondering if anybody can help me.

We believe that we're being charged to much for our electricity, so one of the things we check was our meter.

For the life of me I can't find any information on this siemens meter, Can someone tell me do you read the last digit (the 2)
when giving a reading for this meter?

Thanks in advance

There’s no decimal point, so I think you need to give all 6 digits.
If they only ask for 5 on an online meter reading system, give them the last 5 ie, 97862.

The initial 3 should never change for a long long time.

What is the issue you are having with your supplier?

Hi Thanks for your reply, Our bill was £1200 for 6 months. So I thought our landlord was calculating an extra decimal point. which would of made the bill 10x more expensive. If the meter is correct then I don't understand how we've used 7424 units of electricity. I'm not running a meth lab, we have a couple of 1k heaters, a couple of fan heaters and I charge a 7.7kw hybrid car Monday to Friday. We also weren't here for a lot of the time due to covid.

If you are charging your car on standard rate (eg around 17p a unit) every weekday, that probably accounts for at least half your bill (depending on mileage of course).
