Alright guys,
My name is Dave, Just moved up to Bristol from Cornwall. I used to work for the China clay company Imerys down there but with the family moving up here and my temp contract finishing I followed. Always wanted to do something practical so I decided to train as a electrician. Looked around for a few apprenticeships (with little luck all due to my age apparently!). I ended up having to do a intensive short course (currently done 4 out of 6 weeks). Ive done and passed; Part P, 17th Ed Wiring Regs, PAT testing and I have just completed my 2392 (Initial Verification). I will be going through the 2391 in a few weeks time as well as doing a week of Solar PV.
Apart from costing me a fortune I am enjoying it, Now I just want to get some experience. Sitting in a class room is great for the paper work side of it but I want the practical experience and pay my dues as it were. So if anyone in and around Bristol and North-east Somerset wants or is looking for a mate for a job(s) or if you know anyone it would be much appreciated. I dont have much in the way of tools at the moment (having spent all my money on the course) nor a tester, but I'm very keen to learn and always has a positive attitude.
