Good afternoon guys, got a new light fitting, which is not supplied with the usual female terminals for wiring but rather has a short wire permanently attached. I know many people would just connect the cable with a choc block or wago, perhaps wrap it in tape and then just shove it through the hole in the ceiling but I believe that is bad practice and I want to do this properly. I would rather not have to lift the boarding and insulation in the attic and would also rather avoid cutting an large hole in the ceiling. So wondering that is a good way (if it's possible) of doing this which is safe and compliant?
Thanks, lee.

If you already have cables in situ from the ceiling then that is as good as useless unless you fit a joint box on the ceiling.
