I have a shed 100 yards from my house (a big garden and a big shed) I want to run a 4.00mm2 2 core armoured cable on the surface of my lawn near the fence around my roses up to the shed, In the shed I intend to install a 10 way fuse box which will have 5 ways used and 5 unused (future expansion) the 5 ways will be for the following
(1) 6 amp lighting= 2 6ft twin fluorescents and 2 500 watt flood lights, 1mm2 twin and earth
(2) 32 amp power=2 double sockets for 2 chest freezers, 4mm2 radial in twin and earth
(3) 32 amp power=3 double sockets for woodwork lathe, piller drill, kettle, angle grinder, microwave and 40" TV, 2.5mm2 ring main in twin and earth
(4) 6 amp =security alarm , 75 flex and alarm cable
(5) 6 amp=smoke/ heat alarms, 1mm2 pyro
My main question is I am also having a sink up there for washing hands and boiling a kettle, will the armoured being 4mm2 be enough for the main bond? and would I have to install a rod for the earth to my new fuse box or will I be able to use the armoured and PME it from the house?
Last question will I have to have my pat testing certificate as well as my part P certificate which I got from gloucester skill centre over 34 days which cost me 8 grand? My tutor said I was ready to start my own company and this will be my demo install for my napit application.
Many thanks go easy I am newly qualified to 17th edition and keen to learn.
