I threw away an old knackered light switch and now need to replace it. It had 4 terminals (L1, L2, L3, L4) and is fed by two blue and two red wires. It has a single rocker.

I assume this is a 1 gang 3 way switch? If not what is it? Where can I get one?

It sounds like an intermediate switch but they are normally L1, L1, L2 and L2.
How many switches control the light it is switching.

As above "Intermediate"
Screwfix! Lots of different ones to choose from, this is the cheapest!

Thanks both, I’ll give an intermediate a try
At the box where you are replacing the switch, I'd expect one twin cable coming from the hall switch, and another twin coming from the other landing switch.
I'd put one twin cable in the bottom of the switch, and the other in the top, doesn't matter which way round.
Are the conductors of each twin cable really blue and red? I'd expect black and red, or blue and brown! 🤔

Could be an old 3 core, with yellow in a connector - hopefully with an earth there too.
