• If you are seeking employment in the electrical industry, then you are in the correct forum to post a thread about what you are looking for. Please avoid putting contact details in the actual post. Use the forum messenger instead.

As well as posting a thread in the forum you're in, you can also search Electrician Jobs posted by others HERE. If you run an established electrical company, you can post your business details to our directory of electricians too.
This person requires some work. They've hopefully explained their skills and qualifications and what area they're in. Otherwise, what's the bloody point?
First off i will say i have no experience of working as an electrical installer but have minimal experience installing telecoms/broadband cables in a commercial setting. I also have a C&G level 2 in electro tech which i got way back in 2009. i am looking to get on a C&Gs beginners course so i can install in a domestic setting but also add on the EV course so i can specialise in this area. Once i have begun this journey i will look to add to the skill set so i can do commercial installs also and eventually become a level 3 spark.

Few questions if anyone can help me -; how much would you expect to be paid per install? How much experience do you think i would require before i could competently go and install these as my own stand alone service and does anyone know of anyone who would employ me once i have qualified to help do weekend work to boost my experience? id actually do this for free.

Your attitude puts you in good stead. I’m no where near Birmingham, but I’m sure someone will take you.

just remenber when learning the ropes from others. Pick and chose what you learn. Use your common sense and don’t pick up bad habits.
I know that’s easier said than done. But there are poor electricians out there that don’t know wha5 there doing. There are also those that do know what there doing but don’t.

try to go with more than one sparkies before going on your own.
again that’s easier said than done.

Thanks for the advise and will look at spreading my wings slightly more than i had originally planned. Will look to make a few contacts on sites like this and see where it takes me

Good luck, but don't forget. If your creating a new circuit (EV Charging) on the board, it will need to be certified or Building Control needs to be informed and a certificate issued if you don't have the qualifications .
