No its not sales its lead generation

Got a call from a woman enquiring if I did burglar security and cctv system. I said I do electrical and Intruder alarms she said she had clients waiting for my services I said hold on lets cut to the chase are you acting as a middle man or agent.....................................................................................................Err well we take a commission /fee for evry lead we send you to. I said well first of all this is a sales call and you should have declared this . No we are not sales she said we are Lead generators well you are still sales and you should not be selling your services as if they were a job enquiry .

There name started with a C and their number is 02075200819 To be honest she sounded like a PA looking for someone to fix her bosses burglar alarm and even when I said is this sales she ignored me and wanted to know what area I was willing to cover but as I have said before these "Lead Generation" companies send 10 guys to the same job and they want paid for sending you and a cut if you get the job.

Its bad enough going to a job and not getting it ie wasting time and petrol but sorry I would rather starve than let these clowns manage me hell thats the reason I went out on my own.

I know exactly what you mean. Agencies, Recruitment consultants, my builder, rated people, like vultures, parasites driving down wages and standards and the best part is they usually haven't got the first idea about electrics but are the keepers of doors!

If more of us said no thanks these types of companies would fold instead there is always a mug customer who is happy to let them to get us to fight over a job thinking they are getting a good deal.

I never got involved in price wars with customers,I remember one foriegn gentleman who owned our local corner shop asked for a price on a basic alarm,when I gave him the price his reply was"theres a guy in the paper doing them for £150" my answer was "well what you wasting my time for" as you couldnt buy the parts for that amount never mind make a wage.

Sad thing is they believe it themselves. I do work for a very large (leads firm) Hmmmm and when you speak to them they really believe in it all........what a bunch of ........... s

I spoke to a customer a while ago and he said he used them thinking well let someone else do the running about looking for somebody but he got bombarded with people calling him to quote plus when he quizzed a guy on his qualifications he got worried and complained but was told we just find them we do not audit them.So he said lesson learned.

Also I have put their number in my mobile with Do not answer 1 on the name so ringing out is what they will get

I do this with a lot of calls like this so far I have Scam1,2,3,4,5,6 and Do not answer 1 as they think they can call you every other week plus because of the current economic climate expect to get a lot more calls like this ie pretending to be a customer to get a bite and then in for the kill although these companies are not doing this for nothing so they must be getting a few guys signing up but with the stories i have read on this forum to me it looks like they are making half their money of the sparks who are paying for the leads or in other words leaching money out of their business and then churning new members every other month when they get caught out.

as i have said before..their parasites these outfits....is there a powder or summat we can sprinkle over em?....if not then there must be a spray...

even better one for you all,put all the numbers you dont want to answer in one group and assign a different ring tone to it,saves you dragging phone out of pocket to find out its someone you dont want to answer
