pvc cable used outside

Hi all, I'm installing some external security lighting and wondered if general purpose pvc cable clipped to the wall is ok and will withstand the elements? Or whether I should be using something else.

some will say use Hi-tuf, but I use black PVC flex outside and I'm happy to do so.

Cheers J@mes, thinking about it I have looked at general purpose cable that has been in the elements for over 20yrs and it still looks and feels new. Didn't really want to stretch my budget to the hi/tuf stuff.
