Helped @ office building, changing light fitting, old Fluor to new led,not a bad job really.
The actual cabling consists of flexes & joint boxes,we are just reconnecting,I’ve asked the sparky, shouldn’t we be rewiring to klicks, & testing.
Is answer was no,whats your remit on this.

Has your employer asked you to do this, what risk assessments have been done, are you insured to carry our such work? An electrician would probably carry out some tests, issue a minor works certificate, and would advise on the suitability of existing wiring, joint boxes etc.

Why do you think Klik over existing joint box?

What sort of joint boxes, if circular junction boxes I would have replaced as they are not suitable lighting couplers nor do they incorporate cord restraint.

If the JBs are fixed to a platform between the joists and suitable cable clips are used (as they should be in most cases) why would you need a cord grip? lol :D :mad:

Circular junction boxes according to BS7671 are not deemed suitable lighting couplers.

I suspect if they'd quoted for swopping to LED plus extra for Klik they wouldn't be doing the job.
Someone else would who wouldn't be fitting Klik.

Use some quick flow couplers.

Thanks,I’m not in charge of the job,& finishing of, the sparkies been there forever, they haven’t reported the cabling issues, just carried on doing the works,I’m the one who’s a bit concerned.
The flex’s & jb’s are not supported & are the old type.
