We have a potential client who might be using around 300 MWh per year and someone has mooted the idea of installing solar panels to carbon-offset that (part or whole). From a quick web-calculation for our area it looks like something of the order of 350-400kW installed capacity would be needed.
So I wanted to know if anyone has an idea of how much this would cost (on old tarmac, maybe some on building roof no higher then 8m) and what the practicalities are of getting the DNO to approve such a connection?
We have a local 500kVA substation, not private (SSEN) but we and a couple of tenants in the same building (former sawmill) are only user of it.
