Hi everyone

I’m learning and experimenting with different ways to wire a lighting circuit in this simulation. I wanted to wire two lights controlled by their own switches from one feed, without using the loop in method at the light fixture. I linked the live common from the first switch on the left to the switch on the right (switch on right is a 2 way so linked it to L1/L2)
I was just wondering if there would be potential problems/frowned upon/a preferable way or if this is this just another way of many to wire a lighting circuit, could I potentially link the common throughout an entire lighting circuit? Starting to feel wrong at this point!

Thanks guys

There are many ways to wire lighting circuits, and some are weird and wacky.

Looping the live and neutral at the switch is now the most common practice… that way, you’re not using a blue as a switched live and having to sleeve it.
Browns are likely to be live or switched live, blues are neutrals.

The diagram needs tidied up, but it’s all fine for 2 separate 1 way switches, for example, in different rooms.

Think through any wiring logically… where do the lives need to be, where do the neutrals need to be…. Anything left is switch wires and travellers for 2 way switching…. In themselves just another switchwire.
