Discuss Where do you buy hand tools? in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net
I know Klein for the their guarantee. Ridiculous. From our local tool shop.. So happens he's one of the biggest online tool sellers in the country so prices are crazy and we still get a discount on top!
Klein from CEF are good although they've just rescinded their "lifetime guarantee" which is a bit of a P*** take after making a big thing about it!
I am thanksHi all,
Just wondering where you buy your hand tools? Any online stores you use that are reasonably priced? Local wholesalers?
@Pete999 sure you'll love this thread being obsessed with all tool related things
More into selling what I don't require
I sold some kit already, stuff that I knew I would not require. What, you selling off tools Pete ?, Never thought i'd hear that .
I trust that you are meaning the colleague was the one that died in a flash! Any repercussions from that?I get 99.9% of my tools from Amazon.
I got a pair of Knipex Side cutters for £11.99 when I got my first tool bag together a few years ago. Best bargain ever until a colleague put the power back on as I was cutting through a 2.5 and they died in a flash

NO they aren't very useful if (and I know you shouldn't but we do don't we?) you had to tighten up any connections in a DB even with it switched off, so to brush them off as crocodile clips is a bit churlish imo. They're just big crocodile clips!
I don't think they look like crocodile clips, it was someone else, I happen to disagree with him.Missed that, where do you think they look like crocodile clips ?
They're quite a useful bit of kit.

No probsHi Pete: I know it wasn't you mate, it was Doody. Just forgot to put that in .
Fully plastic pliers? Look like my first pliersMissed that, where do you think they look like crocodile clips ?
They're quite a useful bit of kit.
Sarcasm doesn't translate well through text mate.If you're lucky enough to always be able to isolate a complete DB to work on it or never have to go in to an older DB with a lower degree of protection then thats good for you.
Meanwhile in the real world those fully insulated pliers are a very useful tool.
I don't. All my tool related purchases tend to be impulse buys. Only went to toolststion today for a bag and a new pair of pliers... Got a hammer, level, saw, cable strippers...If you know what you want then eBay is your friend!
Fully plastic pliers? Look like my first pliers
Can see the long nose pliers being useful but when I ALWAYS isolate I use long nose pliers alot.
Personally not persuaded to buy a set though, sorry
