I'm working on some premium member options. The first being no ads at all. The least we can do for you if you contribute financially towards the forum.

What else would you like as a premium member? I'll see if I can do it.

Interesting...! :)

I don't mind the forum sponsor adverts actually, but getting rid of the google ones would be good. Perhaps the option to turn things on or off to your choosing, so you're in control. I think at the moment the community's small enough that there's a bit of emotional "buy-in" to support the forum sponsors.

Just me personally, but I wouldn't sign up for anything with reccuring payment until cancelled (unless direct debit). Sounds like too much hassle. So unless there was an option for "just buy 1 month / 3 months / 6 months / a year" then it's not for me. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/recurring-payments

£60 a year just to have no ads, you're 'avin a larf aintcha? :D
All I've got showing now is the sponsers list, I could get rid of that if I could be bothered.

I'll pass on this one thanks!

I can make them not recurring if that's the current trend. You'd soon notice when your period is up I guess, as you'd see the ads again etc.

You're right mate but it's a way people can support the forum too.

To be fair, it's work-in-progress. I'm seeing what other things I can setup along with the lack of ads. A dedicated category, more prominent listing in the directory (although it's quite empty still right now), a few signature links rather than just one or whatever (which can help with your own website SEO).

Just looking through some other websites that have this kinda thing going, and it seems there are quite a few things forums do, but whether they'd all take off here is another thing.

I've turned off recurring.

Premium - 1 Month £10
Premium Membership - No Advertisements - 1 month £10.

Once logged into the forum Premium Members will not see any advertisements from Google, no affiliate links, no sponsors in the sidebar or forum categories.

If your account is banned, you will NOT be refunded.

Sponsors threads and forum accounts will still exist, and you'll still read some of their content. And our own announcements will still exist. And you'll still get emails etc as per your forum settings and the forum terms and conditions, sometimes regarding sponsors.

This is more to help clear all advertisements in the forum of banners and logos, from the actual forum for you.

Other Features Being Discussed:-

- 3 Signature Links to your website, good for your own SEO
- Access to Premium Member Forum
- Sticky Directory Listing (PM Dan to activate)

Think the price is too much still? Maybe halve it across the board?

Personally if I spend money I would hope its going to bring a real benefit to my business. For instance if there were some legal support for when we get in deep water, not necessarily through our own fault. That would be of use. Also debt collection support could be useful. I would pay a modest sum for a lawyer on retention available for us all. There would be a pool of money collecting. Or maybe a Tontine where we could at various times draw down a sum for capital investment in something such as a new MFT, or van.

Didnt this forum used to be self funding?

With lots of decent members contributing? Before the staff got a little heavy handed and chased them all off?

Suppose times change, as I have noticed that the owner has taken to changing some of those members names to something childish. How he is bumping old threads in desperation for site traffic.

Still I bid you farewell, could you please delete my account as I feel this is the final straw that has made me realise how this place isnt for me anymore.

Yeah it doesn't look like something that we'll be going ahead with. We already do everything for free anyway. I've reduced the adds by a factor of 4 last night.

And although you won't read this directly, but I'm sure the grapevine is ripe, I've erased your account and attributed your posts to a totally completely random name :mduck::mtongue::mkungfu::mamazed:

The thread bumping is to ensure google has reindexed the new URL version of the thread because the software has changed. And it has worked brilliantly. We're literally getting millions of hits on this forum alone. And network-wide it's a massive traffic gain.

Still and always will be number 1, plonker.
