Can anyone suggest a training provider for IPAF at an affordable cost for a group of up to 5 members of staff in the Yorkshire region please?

Can anyone suggest a training provider for IPAF at an affordable cost for a group of up to 5 members of staff in the Yorkshire region please?

I booked mine thru' blade access in bradford, but I had to travel to ossett for the training. can't remember the cost exactly - might have been about 170 quid.

Was everybody else given a book which you have to fill in each time you use related access equipment?

If you dont fill the book up you have to do the full day again after the 5 years?


Is that the norm or what?. I thought that idea was a load of poop.

I thought you could only make one entry for one mewp! it took me nearly a year to get about 10 entries. I thought i'd never get it filled - until someone pointed out that you can get a signature for every time you use one.

dont bother with the log book ,
even if you fill it in every week you still have to do at least half day retraining at the end of the 5 years.

Yeh, I think its a bit of a farce that you have to re do it. You pass your driving test and thats it. You pass your IPAF course they expect you to fill a log book in each time you use one and get it signed by some one on site and then re do the test after 5 years. Come on! ha

Oh well least I get a free dinner with the course. Mine runs out in January!

I had some guy with long gray hair, annoying fella, didn't find it in the slightest bit amusing when I flattened a cone with the scissor lift!

Yep,that sounds like Alan,his sense of humour would not extend to the deforming of work area markers....But get him talking about vikings,he "knits" his own chain-mail as a hobby :seeya:

When at the training centre last year the instructor seemed to think that it was all changing soon ( this year I think he said ) , and that unless your log book was filled in and counter singed ( and even then it was at the discretion of the instructor as to whether it looked legit or not !) you would be treated as though you had never been in one and have to do the full course !? He also seemed to think that each class would take between 3 - 5 days to complete from this year onwards and cost around £ 400 - £600 each time !!!!:censored: Has anyone else heard similar ?

this sounds dubious. how can they stretch it out to 3 days? there's nack all to learn. unless they intend to drown you in health and safety.

I hope you are right , as with that sort of cost I think I will not be the only one just using platforms without up to date training and certs !

I did my renewal today at 1 UP Access at Sheffield nice small place, 1 day course £180 + VAT there was only 3 of us on the course, also lunch was thrown in so was good.
