Hi, I have encountered a weird problem on my Citroen C5 2003. I have installed two reversing lights on my car which is connected to the Rear foglights on the trailer contact. I have recently been experiencing that when the car is left for 3-4 days without driving it that the battery is too low...
As a rank amateur at electrics I had hoped to have an electrician complete the mains connection to my low voltage garden lighting. Owing to the lockdown this isn’t possible so I’m going to have a go. Question - I already have a fused spur, fed from a double socket, to feed an outdoor garden...
Hi I am currently doing my electrical NVQ and have asked a few electricians this question and wanted to clear things up. If we touch an electrical conductor and are standing on the mass of earth will the current flow through us and back to the transformer or just dissipate into the ground. I’m...
Short Circuit Line to Neutral where does the Current go after the consumer Unit?
I assume it goes back to the Sub-Station where it is earthed but i'm trying to find this written in a official book etc but finding nothing.
Thanks
Hi
I didn't understand why when i short the current sensing resistor , the psu/adapter become unstable (voltage dropping and noise) and forever, even if i restore the original resistor !!
Hi
I know that batteries get constant voltage and variable current , but why (for ex. cell battery) has 5v rating as standard but not 1a std , i mean why the amp change (500mA , 1A , 2A ...) if voltage is always the same ?? (I didn't get that in simulation !)
Im just asking for curiosity, what happen if plug 240VAC directly to laptop charger port without DC adapter. What are the effect for laptop if plug in 240VAC into laptop???
Hi guys I have a question, when we consider the assessment of general characteristics for any installation, who Measures /considers/ enquires about harmonics.
is that the job of a normal Installation spark ? If it’s not who does it and how do they test for it?
if it is the job of the normal...
Hello,
Can anyone offer me some help and guidance please, I'm struggling to source either the same direct replacement LED power supply or another that will work in it's place, to replace the one pictured. I need to buy three as all need replacing.
Appreciated.
Morning gentlemen
I am looking for some solid advice from fellow sparks on best route to go. I have been an electrician for 13 years. I started off in the domestic and commercial installations side of the industry. Completed my apprenticeship etc etc. 2009 hit and I was made redundant so I...
I am after a LCD/LED display that can be wired into a circuit (240v < 15a) and display the wattage/amperage being drawn on that current. I am not after a meter, but a continual real time display of the load on that circuit - This is for permanent installation.
I cannot find anything that meets...

I ordered the exact breaker that is in the breaker box and they sent me this one. I want to verify that it is compatible with one in the breaker box. I took a picture of each. Thanks in advanced the company won't answer their phone so I'm kind of stuck until I find out!
Can anyone help me clarify the formula in regulation 434.5.2, the time a conductor can withstand a fault current without sustaining damage.
t=k2 x S2 / I2
The regulation states I is the effective fault current.
Does effective fault current mean the prospective short circuit current/...
