Afternoon everyone, I have a quick question about the Tesla Gen 3 Wall Charger?
Does it require Type A 30MA RCD protection or not.
Only because the Wall Connector features built-in RCD Type A + DC 6mA. I know we should be installing Type A 30mA protection however we also work with what the manual states to along with BS7671.

And the manual states:
“Wall Connector includes GCI integrated protection. Do not install GFCI Circuit breaker”

Tell me what you guys think.

Earth Arrangement: TNCS
Own dedicated fuseboard integrated with SPD.

As long as the cable does not require an (RCD) Residual Current Device ie swa then no as Tesla supply one in the fitting I assume ?

What if the Tesla charger develops a fault and get changed to another make of charge point?
Isn’t it better to just put in the type A rcd anyway?

The manual speaks American? (GCI/ GFCI)?

I've never found out with the Tesla gen 3 whether it an actual RCD that is built in, or an electronic RDC-DD. The consensus on the latter seems to be that they don't comply (on their own), partly because a power cycle resets them.
Also, just wondering, does that charger have open pen protection built in?
